With time, we decay and rot; our flesh turns loose and our bones crumble under their own weight. Aging has been a phenomenon that has plagued every single person since the dawn of time. No amount of frost or metal could stop our cells and our souls from the need to return to the primordial ooze from whom we were born.
Each moment from the time we open our true eyes we see good and bad on two sides of the road and us standing in the middle. For any decision we want to take we always wonder about which side of the road we are about to cross towards and more often than not we find ourselves stuck in the middle unable to move or remove ourselves from a state of inertia.
As a collective, we can never be anymore.
When the weight of being a person washes over you, you awaken inside to find yourself like a tree in a forest no different from the millions of brothers or sisters around you. Each wind brushing against you brings the pollution and noise of the city slowly suffocating you. The necessity for freedom in your life diminishes when it sees what nutrition the world is providing for you in exchange for your lifeblood, and that’s when you truly wonder whether there even is an exchange taking place.
There is no rope that ties our hands and feet, yet we find ourselves bound to false fate.
There is a planet out there, brimming to the top with life and love, and the trees that we are, we deserve to be taken to that planet where we may shine, yet that is never the destination. The truth is what we think the truth should be; it doesn’t matter how many times it needs to be rewritten for us to finally believe it, so please ask yourself why to lie to yourself and others in the first place?
Like a star amongst a trillion others, how long and bright do we really want to shine for?
